Rincewind the Wizzard

 Rincewind is, by profession a coward.
After that he's a wizard... barely.

At one point Rincewind had one of the eight great spells of the Discworld lodged firmly in his head (from the Octavo) to be used only in the event that he couldn't get out of the position he was in.
Rincewind is very good at what he does, which is running away from difficult situations. Some say that a foe of Rincewind's is Death who has on numerous occasions come to the side of Rincewind only to find that he isn't dead yet, most frustrating.

HMM.
Death felt something crawling up the back of his robe, pause for a  minute on his shoulder, and leap. A small rodent skeleton in a black robe landing in the middle of the image and started flailing madly at it with his tiny scythe, squeaking excitedly. Death picked up the Death of Rats by his cowl and held him up for inspection.
NO, WE DON'T DO IT THAT WAY. "
